Book Review: Influencer by Kerry Patterson, Joseph Grenny, David Maxfield, Ron McMillan and Al Switzler

This is a great book for leaders wanting quick and easy ideas to increase their span of influence.

There isn’t really anything new from a research point if view. The book presented in an easy to follow model with plenty of stories and anecdotes to make for a comfortable read. Don’t mistake the ease of the read with it being lite – it’s based on established practises.

The first section of the book makes the case for influencing whilst the second half focuses on a how to use the material to influence change, working through:
– making the undesirable desirable
– surpassing your limits
– harnessing peer pressure
– finding strength in numbers
– designing rewards
– changing in the environment

A great book for coaches working with change and influence and also for organisational leaders who want increase their impact.
